This is how dancing may have saved my life

Every week, something happens in class that still surprises me.

I walk in carrying whatever the week has handed me. The full weight of it. And then the music begins. We move. We breathe. We let something go that we didn't even know we were holding.

And by the end of class, I am completely different than when I walked in.

That shift - that aliveness is the number one reason I've shown up to teach movement for 46 years.

Not because I have to. Because I need it as much as anyone in the room.

Movement is my medicine too.

A few months ago, that medicine revealed itself in a way I never expected.

As many of you know, I wrote to you from a very raw place after discovering I had bilateral pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in both lungs.) I shared the intuitive moment that led me to ask for the CT scan that ultimately caught them.

But there's another part of the story I want to share now.

One of my healthcare team members looked me in the eye and said something that stopped me in my tracks:

"Your dancing may have saved your life."

She believes the years of dancing, aerobic movement, breathwork, fascia-opening movement, and mind/body conditioning I've practiced and taught may have played an important role in how well my body came through this experience.

Of course, the medical care mattered enormously.

But movement mattered too.

That realization deepened my understanding of what PranaShakti™ really is.

Yes, it strengthens the body. Yes, it supports circulation, breath, mobility, and resilience.

But it’s also so much more than exercise.

It’s emotional release. Nervous system support. Energy medicine. Movement as prayer. Movement as remembrance.

Over and over, women tell me:

“That class literally saved me today.”

Sometimes dramatically. Sometimes quietly.

But almost always in the sense that they didn’t realize how shut down, stressed, emotionally heavy, or disconnected they had become — until after they moved.

That’s why I feel so passionate about what I’ve just created.

For the first time ever, I’m able to offer downloadable PranaShakti™ movement journeys — because all of the music for the videos is original music that I produced myself.

Inside The PranaShakti™ Experience you’ll receive:

⭐️ 4 transformational movement journeys

⭐️ Downloadable videos you can keep forever

⭐️ Original music albums you can download

⭐️ A bonus Anger Alchemy Dance

⭐️ Strength workouts using weights and portable bands

⭐️ Lower-body stretch and recovery support

Which means your movement medicine can now travel with you wherever life takes you: hotel rooms… vacation mornings… stressful seasons… or anytime you need help reconnecting with yourself again.

This experience will be available to the public after Memorial Day — but before it goes out to the world, I wanted you to have first dibs. As my email community and dance family, you get 20% off right now, just for being here. Claim your discount here.

The PranaShakti™ Experience was created for real life.

Not perfection. Not performance. Not punishment.

Just movement, music, breath, emotional release, strength, joy, energy medicine, and remembrance.

Because movement is medicine. Maybe more than we ever knew.

With love,

Deb
