Something is growing (even when you can't see it)

As the Summer Solstice approaches this weekend, I can’t help but see the massive growth happening all around me in our community garden. Every day, something new has appeared. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers are emerging overnight. Melons, okra, and flowers appear that weren't there a few days ago.

So much is emerging that we can't see while it's happening…until one day, BOOM!

I think you and I are like that, too.

Sometimes we're convinced nothing is changing, and then we look back six months and realize we're standing somewhere completely different from where we were. And what gets me is that this keeps happening year after year. Decade after decade. We never stop emerging.

In honor of the Summer Solstice, I wrote lyrics to a song called Imagination and wanted you to have it.

Some of my favorite lines:

There were seasons I mistook for the end…

Times I couldn't see around the bend...

But every breaking opened up the way...

For a brighter part of me to stay...

What feels like falling apart today...

May be transformation on its way...

The caterpillar must surrender form...

To discover she was made for more…

I don't know about you, but I need reminders like that. Reminders that I don't have to have it all figured out. Reminders that growth is happening even when I can't see it. Reminders that something beautiful may be unfolding that hasn't fully revealed itself yet.

If you feel called, take a few minutes today and give it a listen.

If a lyric lands for you — hit reply and tell me. I'd genuinely love to hear.

Happy Solstice, my friend~

Deb
