Something I'm trying with my family this week

I’m headed to Dallas to be with my family and feeling especially grateful that we’ll have three generations together for a few days. Since we don’t all live in the same place — and the “kids” are grown now with full lives of their own — I want to make the most of the time we do have.
So I’m trying a small experiment.
I’m bringing some index cards with a few simple questions written on them — some of them crowd-sourced this morning from the Shakti Sisterhood during our Mother Mary gathering. In those moments when everyone’s just sitting around, and the TV might usually go on, I’m going to invite whoever’s around to gather for a few minutes, draw a card, and answer.
Nothing heavy. Short answers are perfect. We might do a couple of questions, then go off and do something else… and later in the day, maybe pull a few more. I’m also bringing blank cards and pens so anyone can add their own questions if they want.
It just feels like an easy way to trade a little screen time for real connection when time together is limited.
I’ll let you know how it goes — and thought you might want to try it yourself.
Here are the questions I’m bringing, in case you want to borrow them:
What does a normal day look like for you right now?
What’s been taking up most of your time or headspace lately?
What surprised you last year?
What’s your favorite ‘binge’ book or TV series?
What made you laugh the hardest this year?
What was an “aha” moment?
What are you looking forward to in 2026?
What are you focused on at this time?
Who or what inspired you this year?
What are you leaving behind in 2025?
What are you most grateful for?
What kindness did you receive from a stranger?
What makes you feel seen and loved?
What’s your biggest takeaway from 2025?
What are you most proud of?
If you could do anything at all (no restraints), what would you do/try?
What was your favorite adventure/vacation/concert this year?
What’s something you’ve been really enjoying lately — big or small?
What’s a favorite way you like to spend a free hour right now?
What’s something new you’ve tried or discovered this year?
What’s a moment this year that reminded you what really matters to you?
What’s something that brought you real comfort?
Wishing you meaningful moments with the people you love,
Deb
P.S. I’m pausing PranaShakti classes this week for family time. Classes resume next week.
