Being fragile doesn’t make you weak

Updated: Dec 22, 2024

remaining delicate doesn't make you weak

it makes you willing to get shattered every now and then

in order for you to transform into whatever you need to become next

some of God's be start work

are things that were once broken

that became a new creation

if someday you have to become completely undone

~ don't fight it

because that is just a sign that the divine isn't done working on you yet

if someday the forest of your life has to be burned to the ground

~ don't cling to the ashes of what once was

just stand still and wait patiently for the saplings of what comes next for you

~ emerge emerge emerge

being willing to start over again and again is the opposite of weakness

it's the toughest thing I can think of

resurrection is only for the strong

and you my love,

you are the strongest person I have ever met

Lately, I've been reminded of the incredible power that lies in our fragility - it doesn't make us weak, it makes us human. In fact, it takes immense strength to be willing to start over again and again, to rise from the ashes and embrace life with renewed vitality. Resurrection is a journey for the strong.

In the last 5 days I've witnessed miracles that have left me in awe. I've seen the fragility and strength of a precious newborn fighting for life and emerging victorious.

I've seen my own son's resurrection as he bravely navigates through the challenges and losses of the past three years, building a new life with courage and determination. His words about the last few years, "It felt like a long fever dream, Mom!" speak volumes about the resilience of the human spirit.

I've also witnessed the extraordinary bravery of a widowed friend as she dares to love and be loved again. It takes immense courage to open one's heart after loss and embrace the possibility of new beginnings. Her strength and vulnerability are truly inspiring.

As for me, I'm embarking on a new chapter of my life as I venture to Mexico. This is a journey that fills me with both excitement and trepidation. It's a leap of faith and a step into the unknown. So, I’m leaning into my courage to embrace the fragility of this new adventure.

Wherever you are in your own journey, whatever challenges or changes you may be facing, I hope these words offer you courage and strength. May they inspire you to release the ashes of what once was and emerge with renewed vitality, ready to embrace life with an open heart and a resilient spirit.

With fragile courage,

Deb
