A Poem to Encourage You

Have you ever received a message from God/Spirit/Universe so loud and clear it startled you?

A year ago on my birthday, I received such a message.

It said: "Don't let what you've learned die with you. You've GOT to share it!"

The "it" the voice was talking about was the way I teach my movement classes called PranaShakti.

PranaShakti is the culmination of 35 years of study and teaching. And it’s what has helped me heal from trauma and keep my body, mind, and spirit strong.

I honestly had no idea how to go about sharing what it is that I do.

I had so many doubts and fears....

???Would I be able to translate everything I do into accessible language....Is it really as helpful as my students tell me it is...There are so many wonderful movement modalities out there...does the world need mine....Will anyone really want to learn from me????

...basically:   "Who do you think you are?!"

But the urging from God/Spirit persisted....and here I am at the beautiful Ancient Yoga Center in Austin on Day 2 of the first PranaShakti Teacher Training Retreat ....reflecting on the gift of being able to share what I love with this group of powerful women.

I'm overflowing with so much gratitude, joy, and love that I wanted to share one of the poems I'm reading today.

May it guide you as you dance into this week...

Let the birds take your clothes
Let the waves undo your holding back
Let the vines unravel your tired mind
And the earth savour your sweat and tears.
Let your stories burn off like rising mist,
As your past and the false floors of curbed self love
Dissolve into butterfly wings and fire flies
As your edges blur and your cosmic self ignites.
Let the trees bathe your breath
Let the meadows embrace you
Let the mountains and the bees remind you
Let the sky flood in and allow the clouds to guide you.
Let your undoing be as total
As your becoming is beautiful –
And when the living world has climbed inside
Enough for you to feel four legs, scales and wings.
May you finally know yourself alive as all things –
Indivisible and responsible
Reborn into wholeness
Natural, Sacred and Wild
